ROOMMATE: IntegRated system of rObOts and Multimedia Monitors: technology for innovAtion and personalizaTion of rEhabilitation care.
ROOMMATE aims to develop a sustainable ICT and multimedia-based ecosystem to innovate stroke rehabilitation and ease pressure on healthcare systems. It focuses on:
1. Creating accessible, high-quality technologies for continuous rehabilitation.
2. Co-designing tailored solutions with patients, caregivers, and professionals.
3. Enhancing digital literacy for effective technology adoption.
The project integrates sensors, robotic devices, VR tools, and multimedia platforms to improve evaluation, treatment, and monitoring of stroke recovery.
Expected outcomes include mapping user needs, testing an experimental care model, and providing educational materials for patients. By addressing gaps in rehabilitation access, care coordination, and health literacy, ROOMMATE aims to transform stroke care pathways, improve outcomes, and align with global healthcare priorities like WHO’s “Rehabilitation 2030.”
